A few people have commented that there’s too much business and not enough fun here on my blog…
Okay they’re boarding my flight – bye for now!
In honor of my frequent travel and upcoming move, I am launching the “Where Are You Now” contest!
Since I’m always posting pictures of the various places I visit along my musical travels, I want to see where YOU are!
“So what do you mean by contest?” you ask?
Well, a few friends and fans have sent along photos of them wearing their Mary Scholz shirts in various places -so I want to see who can come up with the best MS shirt photos! Prizes will be given out for the most outrageous locations, for the MOST photos of one person (in different places, of course), and more as I see fit!
Prizes will include free music, show tickets, free t-shirts (as in whenever the new design comes out!) and more!
“What do I need to do to enter?”
All you need is to purchase a Mary Scholz t-shirt and you’re ready to go! Once you have photos for me, send them my way via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please keep in mind that these pictures will be posted to keep it clean, people!
“Where do I get a t-shirt?”
Good luck and have fun! Be creative! I can’t wait to see your photos!
Is it possible that I didn’t blog about all of the Bon Voyage festivities? Must have been all of that immediate moving…
WELL, the 10! Show was so much fun and the Bon Voyage show at the Tin Angel was incredible – I am so happy that so many of you made it out – we packed the house! Special thanks to my special guests – Hilary Scholz, Boy Wonder, Alfred James and Rory Donovan. Rather than chat about the details, how about I just show you a few photos and videos?
I’ll post photos with show attendees in a little bit!
I’ll post more videos soon too!
Year two at the ASCAP Expo for me – back to sunny Hollywood! Just two weeks before my impending drive across the country to make the move to Los Angeles I was on a plane there for three long days panel discussions and networking.
While the days were most definitely long they were filled with interesting topic discussions and meeting wonderful music creators from around the world. The event was hosted again at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, where I performed in February! It’s a great location for a conference. The majority of the panels were held in the same building but to get to some of the bigger talks you had to go outside and upstairs to the Grand Ballroom which was always a nice break from being inside, taking notes and exchanging business cards.
Some of the highlights were keynote speaker Lindsey Buckingham (of Fleetwood Mac fame), Sara Barreiles, John Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls), Dr. Luke (producer – Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, B.o.B), Dan Ward (Semisonic), Ingrid Michaelson and the amazing Chris Stapleton (writer – “My Bad, Come Back Song,” “Whiskey and You”). My FAVORITE moments though were in the “Women Behind the Music” panel (Andrea Martin, Melanie Fiona, Cri$tyle “The Ink” Johnson, Kelly Price, Nicole George) and the master session with Antonina Armato (Rock Mafia). Their words were insightful, helpful and truthful.
Delicious dinnertime with new friends 🙂 Check out music from Melinda Ortner, Club Guilt, Natalie Gelman and Evan Wise
I’m currently at LAX waiting to fly home – see you in two weeks Cali!
